How do you find someone for this, ghead? Word of mouth or advertising?

Re: Here's to 2017
I've been asking college kids on break, a neighbor who works part time, asked former sitters what their younger sisters are doing... I'd only feel comfortable with someone I know, or recommended by someone.

I did this all the time in high school, times have changed

I can imagine. I remember during the summer in high school taking care of neighbors' homes with lots of pets and doing the watering. Hope you find someone!

OMG, cute alert ☺ one of the older does brought her twins out this morning. I thought she had triplets as well , but it was actually a jackrabbit frolicking with one of the twins! Total Bambi and Thumper moment.

Re: Here's to 2017
Summer hell approaching . Up to 110 this weekend, and 100's all next week. There goes the pg&e bill!

We lost a doe last week, unknown causes. Had to have the warden out. I cried like a baby. The upside is that her fawn(s) appear to have been taken in by other does, as there are no signs of dead fawns. I didn't realize that the others would take an orphan, figured they would reject.

Happy Father's Day a bit early!!!

That's so sad, ghead. Recently there was a news article here about two mountain lion kittens who died, having been abandoned by their mother in the Santa Monica Mountains.

I second the "Happy Father's Day" for tomorrow!

Re: Here's to 2017
So, you know it's really hot when:

A tree squirrel is sitting in the bird bath

A doe lets you spray her with a hose

Woodpeckers and bluebirds gather in the sprinkler

We have a full week of 110 plus predicted, records are being shattered.

TGIF. Hope that everyone has a safe and happy 4th on Tuesday! (I only wish it were a 3 day weekend...)

Re: Here's to 2017
Well... My sd30 and her boyfriend came up and took us out to breakfast today; to announce their engagement! Very private ceremony, just parents, and a reception a few months later. We like her "young man", and they seem to have been patient making this decision.
