September leaves
Öhavenít fallen here and it's still hot, although we've had a respite from the 100 degree days of late. However, the heat is predicted to increase again this weekend.

Happy Labor Day weekend, all!

Re: September leaves
I can NOT believe it's already September! One of those years that is simply flying by, and I don't know where it's gone.

2nd, it's hot here too, but I look at national weather and see AZ, TX etc just sweltering... makes 102 look pretty good.

Harvest is in full swing, which means dust dust and more dust. Eat prunes! :-)

Re: September leaves
I wish, Bluefish. (rhyme!) hot, dry, gonna get hotter. There's a shower projected for Friday, but it's also supposed to be 107 degrees. Every summer I ask myself... "why do I live here?"

Re: September leaves
It is miserable here - 73 when I got up at 5 - and raining! (well, drizzling) If I wanted this kind of weather, I would like back east or the south or the midwest or equatorial Africa. Ick! I hate humidity

Re: September leaves
We had an arson in the neighborhood over the holiday. Just two doors down and across the street. Someone torched an empty trailer.

That's awful, Chero. Speaking of fire, what's going on in Texas looks horrible...let us know how you are, Lizzie.

Blue, Elsbeth: this humidity! I didn't know you were having it in San Diego as well. It's like walking into a blast furnace. Ugh.

Re: September leaves
We're having some beautiful fall foliage, and mild temps for early SEP. ABC news says Alaska is one of the safest places to live to avoid excessive & extreme weather They must not be here, when it drops to -40. Well, I suppose -40 is a bonus compared with tornadoes, floods, hurricanes.

Weather aside, I have a new exercise schedule. A neighbor has a horse stable. I offered to volunteer to clean some stalls, groom some horses in exchange for - well - just to be around the horses. They're so pleased with how well I shovel _hit, they offered me a p/t job with a f/t back ache. I love it. There are about 20 Morgans, Arabs, Quarter horse, couple ponies, lot of chickens, geese, and about a 100 rabbits. I find chicken eggs in the feed boxes all the time.

It's rather easy now, and I'm gearing up for the cold weather! My boots stink so much, I have to keep them in plastic bags in the trunk. But I love the horses. It's not a flashy job, not a lot of cashola, but I like it, and I don't have to read anything.

Embrace the good

Everybody else has had extreme hot weather this summer (except lexi maybe) I guess it was our turn. Although a few days in the high 90s doesn't compare with what they've had elsewhere.
