Now that we can see how many guests are lurking in the shadows, I've been interested in seeing the proportion of guests to registered users. There are generally almost as many guests as there are registered members online at any given time, occasionally more.
Those of us who make a habit of posting regularly really are only the tip of the iceberg. I'd like to encourage anyone who's been considering coming out of the shadows to register and get involved. I think a big reason so many of us stick around is that we received a lot of help and support here during a very traumatic time in our lives. In part you just want to give back, but you may also find that you've formed lasting bonds with others who've been where you are.

great point Theo. I think some of the guests may be actual members who are just checking in and not posting at this moment. But, I am also suprised at the ratio!
The thing I find a bit wierd is that if I go to your "for instance" profile, I see exactly where you're at. I feel like people are thinking "oh, she's back at teh dessert bar again " :-)

Hello guesters/lurkers: I do agree with Theo, if you are just going into the process of divorce, or thinking of it, if you have questions or just want to vent about something, please post. DOL has some folks that can give great advice. Just remember to take what you want, and leave the rest, because you will hear/read things you might not like!
I posted this previously on another thread: But I'll restate it again: Often I "guest" instead of logging in. In the beginning...I did it so I wouldn't post. It kept me on DOL lite. Then after awhile, when I was weaned from wanting to post, I guested to just check in on DOL.
Before the NEW DOL I rarely was posting. Just when I thought I had something to offer. I will probably go back to that after my fascination with the NEW DOL goes away.
I don't have too much to offer anymore. (And no, I'm not looking for "oh yes you do pbj..." responses. Most of the time, someone has already said what I would have said, or said it better than I could say. I've moved on, as Wade liked to say. Anyway, my point of this ramble: Just b/c someone is lurking or a guest, does not mean that they aren't a member or an old member.

I like to watch myself checking up on me.
