Milwaukee has wind chill going on right now. We are getting ready for our Packer game on Sunday. Bermie is turning 8 this weekend! Lil Phoebe is going to Grandma's house and Bermie going to Dad's house. I get to do my own thing this weekend somewhat. Bam Bam is gonna watch the game with Mr. Phoebe.

Happy Friday everyone and have a great weekend!

We are supposed to have snow and icky weather here tomorrow... MrSemperFi may have to go in to work if it's bad, since he is responsible for facilities mgmt at a downtown university... so that's a :(

But the :) part is that it's a looong weekend, hurrah! Plus the Big Flea market is in town this weekend, which is always fun for browsing. We were thinking about trying to get out of town for an overnight this weekend, but depending on the weather, that may or may not happen. Monday is our one monthaversary!

Ah yes, Friday, the usual laundry and cleaning day for me. My daughter has only a half day in school for exams and grading so she'll be home around noon.

Not much planned for the weekend. Besides watching the NFL playoffs Hawk and I will be performing for a luncheon on Sunday and I'll be taking my daughter to get her hair cut and styled.

That's about it for me and mine.

Da da dee, da da dee, da da dats all folks. ;)

Oh yes - sex for those who will have it this weekend. Not me but others might or might not as the case may be. :D

Can I ask who are you guys rooting for this weekend? Obviously I am rooting for the packers.

I'm not really rooting for anyone in particular. I just hope to see some good games.

PATS baby!!!!

Going out to dinner and a movie (There Will Be Blood) tonight. Then tomorrow will go see Mom, go with my eldest step and his new wife to do the walkthrough on their new house, and then home to do whatever I feel as Manfred is working. Will probably be reading - I picked up a classic I had never read before, Steinbeck's "East of Eden", and I am smack dab in the middle and enjoying it immensely.

Sunday will celebrate grandson Matty's 7th b-day (today is his actual day) and watch the Big Game at the same time.

I have Monday off, and Manfred doesn't. I have no idea what I'll do with myself yet.... but if I haven't finished my book I most likely will sit home and read some more.

It's a great book willow. I really like Steinbeck. I finally read the first Harry Potter last week, and enjoyed it a lot.

We have a long weekend, to my suprise, and it's supposed to be sunny so I hope to do some gardening. One of my aunts/uncles and a cousin are here visiting Sunday, so will get to do some chatting. Hope to go look at some more properties up for sale, trying to find Utopia :-)

You root for the PATS, Willow? Now there's a surprise.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Chargers go all the way. I seem to recall it's been a long time since they were even in the conference playoff game.

I can't believe it is Friday already!! I've been setting up a new budget for myself, I refinanced mortgage last year, my utilities & food are cut way back without the boys! Today I drove in my 2006 Honda CRV and traded it in for a 2006 civic and got the payment down 100$, and much better gas mileage. Oldest owns an Accord, the other two share a civic with +120,000 mi. Middle has it during school till he graduates 2009, then youngest gets it for his junior & senior years. I figure we can just keep passing them down!

Lots of studying this weekend & getting my final papers started . In Ab. Psyche I have to do a profile on a fictional character & was thinking of Glenn Close in , "Fatal Attraction" as borderline...Any other suggestions???

Have a great weekend!

steamy, have you seen "The Dirty Dozen"? You could use Maggot (played by Telly Savalas) as your character! He was beyond borderline, tho :-)

Hawk is driving an old Civic that has 215,000 miles on it and still gets 40mpg on the highway.

Not much planned here this weekend. It's gonna be very cold. 8* for the high; -7* for the overnight. Some laundry and housework as usual; maybe we'll brave the cold and go bowling or something.

I'm going to find all of the old letters from my Mom from years ago. I'm looking for answers in them. I'll be carting my daughter back and forth to work all weekend. On Monday I get to bring my car to the shop and wait for it to be worked on since I don't have a ride. My mechanic says it could be an hour and a half or it could be four hours depending on what he finds underneath (exhaust work). We're going to have windchills down to 25 below that day so it will be fun standing there. But my car has been good to me (only car I bought without any make input and it has been my best car!) so I don't mind taking care of it.

The gas thing is so crazy...was red lining in the gas tank when I filled up to drive to Indiana this past Monday. I filled up at a BP, it was 2.97/gal & I drove 286 miles till I hit the red line again (not even the appox 300 mile trip), that was about 20 m/g. I don't ever remember a tank going so fast, & I usually stop at BP's.

When I drive to NJ a filled tank gets me approx, 375 miles (always economy gas), on the 425 mile trip. I always stop at the same gas station in NJ over the PA border. So on the same exact route back from Notre Dame to Akron I filled up with premium and got just about the 375 miles to the tank. Same difference? Screwy, huh??/!!...

So I decided to put gas mileage in play, I don't tote the kids around any more, don't haul my horses either. I have a habit of treating my car like a purse, I throw everything I might ever need in it. They say I can get 44m/g highway. It has 37+000, & my trade in had 27+000 both same year.

I always feel like car dealers rip me off. I hope reducing my monthly payments was worth it combined with the gas mileage, another year was added to my terms...

I would like to find a service that trades car deal advice for horse deal advice. I can relate to a horse, yes I did like this car more than the others I drove...It wasn't even the color, it was the vibe...oooohhhhwweeoohh.

:0)

I hate to even talk about fuel mileage. My Yukon sucks up gas like crazy! My 3500 crew cab burns half the amount in diesel fuel and weighs twice as much. Problem is that the dually is having fuel problems so I have kept it in the yard.

Just the mention of snow in GA wiped out my stock of firewood.

Fridays of all Fridays....are we getting married?????????? Well, we're discussing all the details (Big Grin) OMG! He's simply the BEST guy,..likes my kids/they like him...we're thinking about it because frankly "darling" I want it all>>>dress, wedding, reception(miner details), blended family, home(big deal to me)......just to be together(most importantly)>>>>just to be together.

You're all invited.

Oh sorry I diverted topic...CARS/GAS? Well, I drive as little as possible. My car gets 9MPG in town and 20MPG on the highway. I'm NOT trading cars. My car is the absolute best car ever. BITE ME OPEC.

Happy for you.

This is too funny, the pooch has never seen snow before so he is walking around in circles trying to locate just the right area.

I had a sable collie that went crazy in the snow drifts of 93.

Congrats Lexi!

Thanks, but we're solely talking about "future",....marriage is a scarey thing to both of us. Has anyone ever just wondered, "where are we going with this(meeting, partnership)"?

We might be just fine just the way we are....together.

Good for you Lexi!! So glad you are happy. After the last man I dated, I quit again. All he wanted to do was get married and explain to me how much he knew I wanted to, too. NOT!!

It's a very cold morning here today.

I'm having a quiet weekend with the kids. We are getting over our respective Upper Resportary infections, ear infections, pneamonas that we all came down with starting New Years Day and continuing on for the next week. This is the thrid weekend in a row I've done just about nothing and have been very happy not doing it. But my cough is almost gone and my ears feel much better. The kids are done with finals and have a 3 day weekend and we are just sleeping and hoping these dang germs are gone soon.

Lexi! Really? I hope your dreams come true!

now about this snow thing... poolman, I thought of you yesterday! Think of us tonight... it might snow here.

On top of the earthquakes! There was a cluster yesterday about 28 miles west of here... while we were 15 miles west of "here". Biggest was 4.7, which really isn't much when it's nothing but trees and rocks. We didn't even feel them. But, quakes always cause a bit of a shiver when you consider the active volcano about 40 miles to the east, last erupted less than 100 years ago!

Boy, are we ever cold here, too. 50s today. Downright un-southern Californian.

Hopefully though, the rain we're supposed to get over the next week or so will materialize. Chero, rain dance time!

I had a hard time imagining what I was looking at from Green Bay last night, and to a certain extent Foxboro. Holy Moly Cow. But I've felt Foxboro-type cold in both New Mexico and Maryland--Chesapeake winters can be brutal.

Just listened to part of the famous MLK speech. That speech never fails to give me goosebumps.

I know what you're thinking,...pool. It sounds crazy, huh? email me the ad/number and I'll check the location. Now, if someone offered you a caretaker position of a lodge on an island in Prince William Sound,...it might be some expensive private retreat-complete with helicopter ~ or ~ maybe Circle Hot Springs, 9 miles from the Yukon.

The temp today here was a "balmy" 32 degrees,..now that is T-shirt weather. 52 degrees in Delta Jct,...and that's bikini weather up here.
