and I got here first :)
Happy weekend to all. Ours will be wet. Thank God. Storm seems to be getting bigger every hour. We may have 2 - 3" by morning. and it cracks me up that they (weather channel) are acting like Noah better start building. I guess it's news. We just need this rain AND SNOW so much. I think the cows have just been straining mud through their lips for 2 weeks now.
So it's an indoor weekend. I have lots of projects (oh, no, not again) inside like tiling the kitchen, and getting back some floor space in the office. I could build a bonfire with old checking statements. And sheets seem to be breeding in a closet... I never realized we had so many sheets. Time to go to the thrift store w/ a delivery.
take care all

Happy Friday to All! Please let go of all your woes & send them to me. I am getting armored up for battle with the legal system, and willing to carry along your gear. Just pile it on, I can do this.

steamy, I hope that you find someone to talk to who can help sort out what's truthful, and then what can be done for YOUR best interests!! As you say, grab those brushes and get those horses to sparkle!!

Ah ha! You are the new, official Friday topic opener for 2008, Steamy. I wish there were some sort of special bonuses to go with the position but, well, there just ain't. :)
Pretty much the usual stuff here - laundry and house cleaning. However there will be a special lunch this afternoon at 1PM at one of the better Mexican eateries. Can we say stuffed with enchiladas? ;) OLE'!
Here's wishing everyone a safe and happy weekend.
Oh yes, for those so inclined there is always:
SEX or maybe not. :D

No sex... just busting more firewood, Burns up the same amount of calories but not near the fun. LOL
I'm having a pity party over a front tooth about to fall out. I'm gonna look like a regular Ga boy. :) I've babied it for three years since the dentist told me it would be fine but just a bit loose. NOT!!!
And furthermore, whose idea was it to hide the laundry in a closet when showing a house? I thought I was losing all my clothes until they started showing up in spare closets. LOL Gonna have to hire CC to help with all these loads. :)

I plan to limp around from a slapshot I took on the ankle a few days ago. I also plan to whine about it using any electronic forum available to me.

I have the start of a bad cold. My kids have it, I was hoping I would escape it but no luck.
I'm cancelling all my plans and sleeping all weekend. That and taking down the tree.

Yup, taking down the tree, baking for a church thing on Sunday.... and reading, reading, reading. Maybe watch a few football games on Sunday - but the Pats have a bye so no critical game to watch.

The wknd looks promising for fun. I don't know what but it's gonna be fun. 16-0 NE WTG. Hard to argue with that score. We're Cowboy fans, however and there's some challenges coming up with 2nd string starting.
I have to update about that blood clot incident. It's been perplexing trying to figure out why/how this "ailment" healed miraculously by itself. It occured to me that I had been eating a lot of red grapes, and not much else sometimes. Red grapes are high in flavonoids which reduce bloot clots. Could it be possible? Could my eating red grapes more for months litterally have busted that clot? If so, all I can say is eat red grapes ! 80% water too, and zippo on carbs/calories.
Otherwise, I have a romantic get-a-way in mind (escargot comes to mind) and/or maybe see Charlie Wilson or Atonement. Happy wknd all.

I'm going to clear snow from the last several storms in anticipation for the rain expected the first of the week. My daughter just got a job in the kitchen where I work so she's going to work all day on Saturday and Sunday. And I'll start thinking about school which starts up again on February 8th.

I know it's a bit early and don't expect a quick reply but does anyone know anything about free sites where you can post pics? I know others that have used them but I'd rather not go through an endless search that ends up wanting $

I use flickr. They have a standard account that is free and also a pro account that I use which is like $25 a year. Unless you are like me and take hundreds of photos each month, you should be fine with the standard account. I also use photobucket. I don't remember the rules here if I can send you the link or not. You could always do a blog. I have one going on google.

Moog, did it get to you? Oh man, did we get it!
Power went out yesterday at work about 7:15 am, at home at 10 am. Came back on at home at 3 this morning, still off at work. My mom is staying with us because she still doesn't have power. Trees down everywhere, loads of rain. Raining again now, and it's a wonderful sight. We need it so much.
We tried to go out to breakfast this morning, but every restaurant that had power was packed. So we came home and made pancakes. No wait.

wow these are cool picture sites you guys ! I'm not quite so photo album orientated via the internet. It's usually the scantily dresses poses,...oh well never mind. BUT nice pics ALL>!
Rose peddles? I thought that seemed odd to have snow in GA, but it snowed in Orlando in 1983. Nice pool, pool,...and you now really deserve the name!

Ghead hope it gets better, that looks like one wild storm. You are in No. CA, right.
Pool, that cat is a real meglomaniac, even as a youth...

Are those the two Luckys? How can you even THINK of boarding them while you're away? :) (And is the white cat really a stray or is h/she yours now?)

01-06-2008, 09:12 AM
Yes that is Lucky the dog and Lucky the cat. They are absolutely best friends. It's ironic that they both were adopted and had the same name. The pooch was my first fostered Golden Retriever that I adopted just after I had a long talk with Mami that we were not going to keep any dogs, only be foster parents. I lied, :) The moment the association called and said they had a buyer for the pooch, my heart sunk and had to go back on my word and tell them I was keeping this guy.
The handsome white kitty belongs to another DOLer. He's not really a stray but just one of the first pics I could find to use on the new account.

Those are some nice photos CG and thanks for the lead on free hosting. I think I'll get the hang of it although I'm not the best photographer and my camera is a dinosaur.
Back to pets. :)
Isn't it strange how you can understand every word they say?
One muffled quiet woof while napping means the dogs next door are barking so he has to reply.
Three loud barks means someone is near the house as he canvasses every window.
OMG, when the door bell rings, people take ten steps back when he barks so loud, while actually is is hunting a toy to bring them.

the big ones are past. now, I just hope we keep getting rain for the rest of the week as indicated. yeah, steamy, about 2 hours from Oregon border here... I'm sure once the clouds clear we'll see lots of snow in the mountains.
mr ghead is about to go through the neighborhood... have chain saw, will travel. It honestly looks like a small tornado went through town!
me, I still got lots of laundry to catch up on. bleh

Thanks for the compliments, but having the right tools to work with has a lot to do with it. I have a Nikon D200, camera body alone was $1500 and then there are the lenses. I made my own Christmas cards this year with some of the snow pictures (the trees in my back yard and the birdhouses mostly). I'm trying to figure out what to take a picture of for my son's 21st birthday. It has to be something that a Mom would take a picture of for her son, not one of his buddies!

I think it would be great to give him a photo of you taking a picture, into a mirror with a picture of him in the reflection. Do you know what I mean?
Way back in college, I had a boyfried that was into photography and he had me sit in a chair reading, and took a photo of himself in a mirror, capturing me in the background. It was a great photo, still have it somewhere....

cg, what about a collage of shots? Maybe it doesn't have to be just one thing but a variety of things he is interested in? My older D did some fabulous collage work, using some kind of acrylic that she would use as a topcoat to provide a thick and shiny surface. We used this to finish cigar box lids as gifts.
