View Full Version : Where's Harmony?

Ok... I saw Poppy check in the other day. But where is Harmony? She was here nearly from day one.
And of course, I'd be remiss not to mention Admin's favorites, Sage and Shalimar. Sage does stay in touch and is doing fantastic. I don't think she could possibly be happier.
I can't believe this board has been around over 10 years.

I can't believe I'VE been coming to this board for over seven years! I really need to get out more.

For that matter what happened to Melody. We can't have Harmony without Melody.

I saw poppy check in for a minute too. :) (Harmony was before my time, though)
Admin, I have a question: I've noticed that Himself and Tiddly have little plussies after their names. What does that mean?

I have a plus? where?

I hear from Shalimar every so often! She's doing GREAT!

Tiddlums, go to the online users list and look at your name.

you mean the plus at the bottom of their "square"? that means they are currently on the board.

Do you mean next to their names on the main page where it indicates they are logged in? If so, I believe these are the people on whom you have bestowed your rep points. :)
Or perhaps it is someone you added to your Buddy List! That's probably it. :D
Yep! If you add someone to your buddy list, a plus goes next to their name.

I can't believe I've been separated for over 10 years (Dec. 1995). Whew.
Also, if you mention Harmony, MusicMan can't be far behind. I believe he checked in sometime in the last year; he was doing a magician's act that he gave us an anonymous link to look at.

I think Harmony usually starts a DOL birthday thread each year. Perhaps she will rejoin when that time rolls around. I don't recall the exact date. Isn't it in the spring?
Shali is busy livin' her life. Or maybe she's still snowed in. <g>
I haven't heard from Sage since she helped me move after I was widowed. If she shows up, I'm sure she will mention something to me about a truckload of bras. :)
I enjoy seeing those familiar names show up now. It's sorta like those old Maxwell House Coffee ads where the long lost son shows up as a surprise at Christmas and makes early morning coffee for the family. Yeah. I'm sappy like that.

I was just thinking this morning about Harmony. I'm sure she'll turn up around May 1 for the DOL-anniversary thread. Won't she be in for a surprise!

Admin, thanks for noticing. I'm obviously been on DOL lite, lite, lite for a while. After all, it's been 10 years since I first found DOL and over 9 since the divorce.
It has been good to see a lot of the old handles popping up. We do have a bond, don't we?

Where did those ten years go?
Hi Admin! A little birdie told me my name was mentioned here. Nice new digs! Uplifting color scheme, and hopefully, the BB format is easier for you. I do a board like this for a small group and maintenance isn't bad. I'm disappointed you don't have one of those devil face smilies, though. My birthday is coming up. Up for a party? ;)
Hi Old Pals! Gosh, so good to see so many familiar names! Seems like both yesterday as well as another lifetime, if that makes sense. Hope you are all well and busy. I'm great, finally figured out what I'm really good at - being happily single! My kids are great - two older ones both in apartments with good jobs. Still running ragged with the youngest, 14, and I have the perfect little pooch - Idgie, my Lhasa Poo. Have a sweet SO of 2 years, who is also happy being single, so we aren't about to ruin a great relationship.
Gotta scoot, but I'll be back to play tomorrow! Thanks for digging me up!
Rocky

Hey, Shali!!! Digging you up? Or is it out? Still much snow up there?
I was wondering about your reference to 'single'. Glad to hear the two of you have a mutual understand and things are going well.

Shali!!! I am so glad to see you! I haven't "talked" to you in ages, glad to know everything is so great!
Guess what? My son finally graduated, now he's in grad school working on a PhD!!! I didn't think we'd ever see that BS, much less a PhD!
Rocky

That's great, Linds!!! It feels good when our kids surprise us. PhD! Wow!

Admin -
I just heard from Harmony. She says:
Okay, I registered....and I've been waiting for the email I'm supposed to get with instructions on completing the registration steps.
She hasn't received the instructions and can't post, but she says to tell everyone hello and that she's trying!

I'm here! I'm here! Thanks for the tip, Lindsay. Admin must have felt that I was preparing for my annual Happy Birthday thread which is due out in early May.
For anyone else that might be waiting for their additional registration instruction email....check your junk mail folder. Wow! I feel like a kid again. Fond memories are pouring in. Oh, and I'm doing great....still single. Any takers? :-)

Wow, a blast from the past!!
Nice new look here Admin! Nice to see old friends as well!!
Magic is very much my new stage. I discovered I can entertain groups of 1 to 1000 with magic....and I don't need a band behnd me to do it.
OK, I've got some great vids to share. We'll start with a rehearsal one first.
This is a 150 year old card trick, redone by yours truly, and performed on large stages.

I write all my own music for my magic shows. The basic drums are the first track I record, and usually the last to overdub with fills and rolls. Here's a couple of pics of my home office and recording studio.

I'm sure pyrite will get here by-the-by. I always think of him and Bathsheba together because I met both at a fest of maybe 6-7 of us that we had at the Marriott in Silver Spring MD way back in what? 1997? Wow.

I remember Bath and 2nieve were a couple of the first posters I talked to when I first came here. And that was in late(Oct?)'97, I think.

Standingstill - Every time I see one of your posts, and your location as noted "On a long lonesome highway" I cannot help but think of the Bob Seger song "Turn the Page." I don't know if that was your intent, but that song plays in my head each time I see your location. It's a great song, though, so I see that as a good thing. :)

A big shout out and Hi to poppy, Chero, magic-cat, radar, Blue, Harmony, Bookie, Wingies, aires, standingstill, Wrong Again, new folks and anyone with a new user name I don't recognize! :)
Rocky - Well, we just thawed here, but I understand we are due for a St. Patty's Day storm with another 4 inches. Didn't you like the previous 2 winters better? I'd rather be blowing money in the stores on a Spring wardrobe than paying the plow man! (I know you're with me on this one.)
Musicman - Thanks for my morning entertainment. Although I'm generally anti-magician/mime, I enjoyed your creative presentation. Bravo!
Linds! Yippeee for Matt!!! Or, soon-to-be DR. Matt! I wonder if there is any statute of limitations on grad parties. It would be nice if our boys aren't sporting walkers at theirs, huh? Well, my late bloomer is no longer mixing alcoholic chems either. He's working in a bio-chem lab that is newer to this area and fast growing due to their environmental work on fuel alternatives. He's loving it and they are liking his work ethic and knowledge base. I expect they will send him back to school for those measly 3 credits he still needs someday. Meantime, he also has started playing in a band (bass guitar). So, he's one happy camper too. Great catching up with you a bit!
OK, before I fly, there's just one request I must make. Stop voting for Sanjaya!!!!! :p
