And I get to start the first Friday post in our new digs.:D Oh boy - don't I feel special!!

Busy weekend ahead - it's youngest D's 12th birthday, so I'll have a bunch of adolescent girls over for a party on Sat. night, and about 6 of them are sleeping over. Of course, I didn't think about the effect of losing an hour's sleep when I made this plan  But I'm just so happy to have d12 back from her month-long winter stay with her dad that I'm not even gonna complain.

In this time zone it's still Thursday...so guess I shouldn't be posting on the Friday thread?

Big house work weekend, need to get the house in shape for company coming next week. Real Dad's retirement party next week, all of us girls (sister's) are practicing our "game faces"

Then next weekend I have to go out of town for the Company again and Son and GF will be staying to care for the dogs. Guess I better stock up the fridge too.

I have no clue what I'm doing this weekend.

Big audit at work that will keep me busy most of the day. Plus I need to do paperwork for some verbal warnings at work. (Love how a "verbal warning" is on paper)

I told the girls cleaning this weekend but I want some fun too.

As usual it is laundry and cleaning today for me. Not much planned this weekend.

Old Hawk is here convalescing. The nursing home messed up royally so he's out of there and over here to heal. He had a total hip replacement a week ago last Wednesday.

Total hip replacement! Oh Chero those are hard to heal from. My mother had both of her's done within a year apart. I hope Hawk is feeling better soon.

I'm waiting for a new camera that I ordered with my tax return. Fuji Finepix S5200 It's not the best but a good mid grade camera and an upgrade to my other Fuji Finepix which I'm giving to my mother because she wants an upgrade to her Olympus. Hopefully tonight I'll be shooting night pictures.

zirelda, I have fuji finepix A360... very simple but I love it.

Going to a concert tonight, probably need to do some work this weekend. We have semi-annual reports due on problem loans... and I have a few of those.

Chero, good wishes for Hawk's recovery. He's in good hands, I'm sure.

I love the Fuji Finepix. I can't remember what model I have now, but I like it. I've had it for about the last 4 years and it still takes great pictures. Only dropped it once.

I just found the neatest opportunity if it is still available. Since I have not found a home to buy yet and I may sell my home sooner than I think I was looking for a caretaker job on one of the local farms. Most of them want you to train horses. I love horses and know which end is safe but I'm no dressage rider.

The one I found today was offering a 75 year old farm house at a petting farm with no rent or utilities in exchange for feeding and minor repairs around the farm. The only catch was they do hold parties in the home so I'd have to hide during the day when they had celebrations.

Decisions, Decisions, do I feed goats or start logging again. :)

I have everything paid for and no debt so I'm at the midlife decision of what I want to do.

Gotta go help serve the Friday fish dinner at church tonight. Pretty popular event--a lot of people who aren't members of the parish show up. $6 a head and $2 glasses of wine or beer.

I'm not sure the forecast is still the same but yesterady they said we would be in the high 80s for Sat & Sun.

I like long slow things too...

Unfortunately, there won't be a lot of time for fun stuff this weekend. It is Move Part Deux. We have to get all of ArtGuy's stuff from his apartment. He says we can do it in 2 runs with all the bench seats out of my van. I hope so. I've barely recovered from moving all of our stuff last week. The new place is great - so much room! And the cats are having a blast exploring all the nooks and crannies.

Maybe next weekend we can relax...

Pool, I was thinking the same thing about the fish fry having beer or wine, must be a west coast thing.

I went with the youngest and saw Wild Hogs last night. Very funny movie but a bit dumb. But, given all the motorcycle guys around this area I found some of it was so typical. It seemed to be a big older couple date night movie but there were a lot of kids in the audience also. My youngest was laughing like crazy.

I had a nice surprise today. While we were painting my mom came over to fold some clothes that I was giving to charity. She handed me some folded money that she found in a pair of swim trunks. I noticed a $20 on the outside but just stuck in my pocket as I was busy painting. Just counted it and there was $200 dollars. Must have been from 8 years ago when we went to Disney World. :D YAHOOO!

I would have stuffed it in a box.

I'm not going anywhere for a LONG time.

Sigh... if only we were at the "isn't this nice, it's all done" stage yet. We're getting there, but combining 2 households takes a lot of work and decision making. Just trying to figure out what pictures to hang where is exhausting! At least ArtGuy and I are together every night... makes it all worth it.

Well, I'm glad you are all in the same house, and in a little while (or a few months) you will be unpacked with the pictures up and all.

I've been thinking in 5 years or so, I have to move, I should really start getting ready now. It's going to take me that long.

ejmuller
03-13-2007, 06:10 AM
Hey Tuffy - good morning to you! I used to feel like you and I were having our morning tea together because we would be the only ones up and posting so early.

We have almost too much room in the new house and I know how that can be dangerous - you never get rid of anything because there is always somewhere to stash it. We will have to be vigilant about that. On the other hand, it is lovely to wake up together every morning and know that we will be together every night. The pictures will get hung... eventually.

When is this supposed to happen?

Let's see-- been at my new place 7 months now and still have unpacked boxes in the garage! AGGHHHRR--if I had realized how hard it would be to deal with an 18 year accumulation.

Right there with you. We've been at the new house for almost a year and still have a ton of boxes that haven't even been looked in, much less unpacked. Maybe I should just toss them while we're ahead?

I was amazed. When I moved into the rental I had 13 boxes and some furniture. When we moved to the house 3 years later the boxes filled the garage. Where did all that stuff come from?

Don't hold your breath!! I don't want anyone turning blue on my account.

Both interviews went really well. The first was with a firm I've never heard of before. They are looking for someone with my background - a combination of project management skills, training experience and solid technical abilities. Very nice people, looks like a good firm. I met with 3 people. If they like me, I'll have to come back and meet more I believe. The second interview was a follow-up meeting to an interview I had 2 weeks ago. This is the place I was temping at during August/September of last year. I really liked them, they really liked me but they couldn't offer me a full time spot back then. Now they are looking for a senior person to create and run the department. I met with 4 more people and it looks good there too. I also got a bunch of calls and emails from recruiters. So we'll see... stay turned for further updates!

I just had my first dizzy blonde moment.

As I was leaving Cracker Barrel restaurant having lunch my keyless remote for the GMC Yukon door locks would not work. I figured the battery was dead so I used the key and opened the door only to find that the interior was burgundy instead of tan. And there was no dog in the back.

Eeek! One more thing to worry about...

My ignition key actually doesn't open my car door. During the crazy times of my divorce, my then stbx kept taking my car so I finally had it re-keyed. I couldn't afford to do the doors and the ignition, so I just did the ignition. It's a little weird but it works for me.
